Our Havyaka culture is deeply embedded in keeping Vedic scriptures and rituals as a live process from time immemorial. Though we found new homes in search for better economic opportunities and changed our lifestyles, our cultural ethos connects us all together as one family.
We all share the common culture of goddess worship and revere the power of the feminine in our spiritual, social and economic dimensions of life. For our 19th biennial convention this time, we have chosen this very distinctive topic Streeshakti (ಸ್ತ್ರೀಶಕ್ತಿ / स्त्रीशक्ति / power of the feminine) as the theme.
Let us all come together to celebrate our culture, heritage and of course, food in a Havyaka family environment and extol the contribution of women in our society as mothers, wives, sisters, professionals and leaders.

ಪ್ರಿಯ ಹವ್ಯಕ ಬಂಧುಗಳೆ, ಸಜ್ಜನರೆ, ಸೃಜನರೆ ನಿಮಗೆಲ್ಲಾ ವಂದನೆಗಳು,
ಇನ್ನೆರಡು ತಿಂಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಕಾತುರದಿಂದ ಕಾಯುತ್ತಿರುವ ಹವ್ಯಕ ಸಮ್ಮೇಳನ ಜರುಗಲಿದೆ. ಮನರಂಜನಾ ಸಮಿತಿ ವೈವಿಧ್ಯಮಯ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಸಭಿಕರೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನು ರಂಜಿಸಲು ತಯಾರಿ ಭರದಿಂದ ನಡೆದಿದೆ. ಈಗ ಸಭಿಕರನ್ನೂ ಮತ್ತು ಕಲಾವಿದರನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸುವ ನಿರೂಪಕ ರಿಗಾಗಿ(MC) ಈ ಆಹ್ವಾನ. ಆಸಕ್ತಿ ಉಳ್ಳವರು May 22, 2022 ರ ಒಳಗೆ ನೋಂದಾಯಿಸಿ ಕೊಳ್ಳಿ. ಜೊತೆಗೆ Google Docs ನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಒಕ್ಕಣೆಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಥಗರ್ಭಿತವಾಗಿ, ಭಾವನಾತ್ಮಕವಾಗಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾಗಿ ಉಚ್ಚರಿಸಿರುವ Video Recording ಮಾಡಿ, ತಮ್ಮ ವಿಡಿಯೋ ರೆಕಾರ್ಡಿಂಗನ್ನು google Drive ನ folderಗೆ Upload ಮಾಡಿ.
We are inviting all our enthusiastic people to emcee for HAA Convention – 22. Please submit your entry by May 22, 2022. Record a video with the content given in the Google Docs and upload your video to the google drive folder that is mentioned in the document.

HAA convention youth committee is calling all singers and musicians 12 and older to join voices in presenting a Music Symphony during the convention.
Dear Havyakas,
HAA Convention Youth Committee invites all youth (ages 10 -18) to come participate in our 2022 HAA online chess tournament.
Come sign up and participate to tickle your brains, compete and figure your way out through the online chess boards with fellow Havyaka youths.
Please encourage your kids to sign up.

HAA Convention youth committee is inviting registrations for online youth debate contest by Feb 20th, 2022.
Debate topic: Standardized tests should be abolished? (Yes/no)
Debate Date: March 26th (tentative). Debate will be broadcasted live on zoom/YouTube.
HAA Convention Youth Team is inviting youths who reside in Americas to participate in an Essay / Creative writing contest.
Subject
- My India trip experience (Age 13 or younger)
- Maintaining Indian roots in America (Ages 14 – 18)
Rules
- Limit to two single-spaced pages (about 1000 words)
- Essay can be in English (Font: Times New Roman, Size: 12) or ಕನ್ನಡ (Font: Unicode, Size: 12)
Top entries will win prizes and be published in Havya Siri magazine.

19th Biennial Convention of Havyaka Association of Americas (HAA) will be held in San Francisco Bay Area on July 2-3, 2022. To mark this occasion, HAA is planning to publish a souvenir – “Havyasiri 2022″. HAA souvenir team is conducting a short story competition for Havyaka writers across the globe. Prize winning short stories will be published in the souvenir and winners will be announced during the convention.
Deadline to Submit, March 26, 2022. Please send your short story to articles@havyak.org
Guidelines:
- Short story can be written either in Kannada/Havigannada/ English
- Short story should be your original creation and it shouldn’t have been published before
- Submitted short story should not be published anywhere else (including blogs, social media) before the souvenir gets published
- Story length should be limited to 6 pages or less
- Translated short story will not be considered for the competition
- Short story should be in Unicode, MS-Word/ google doc Font size 12 and hard copies will not be accepted
- A person can send only one short story
- Please send brief introduction about yourself, address, email id, phone number along with your short story, and send your picture attached to the email
- Judge’s decision is final
- Team Havyasiri 2022 reserves the right to select the stories to publish in the magazine
Team Havyasiri – 2022
On the occasion of Havyaka Association of Americas (HAA) 19th biennial convention, we have decided to publish a souvenir magazine – Havyasiri 2022. We request all Havyaka friends to submit your articles for this souvenir by Feb 8, 2022. The articles can be essays, stories, travelogues, musings, cartoons, traditional Havyaka recipes, and poems, or if needed can include suitable photos.

Guidelines:
- No More than two submissions from per person
- Submissions should be your own creation and unpublished (formal or informal social media, etc)
- Submissions should be in Kannada, Havigannada (ಹವಿಗನ್ನಡ) or English.
- Submissions in English should use Font: Times New Roman, Size: 12 with single line spacing.
- Submissions in Kannada should use Font: Tunga Unicode, Size: 12 with single line spacing.
- Submissions should be either in MS-Word or Google doc format. PDF’s or handwritten images are not acceptable.
- Submissions should not exceed, Article – Max 4 Pages, Story- Max 6 Pages, Poem – Max 1 pages.
- Please provide your full name, contact info (email, phone number) and a passport size picture along with the submission.

Dear Youth members and parents,
For the upcoming HAA Convention on July 2nd and 3rd 2022, we would like to see maximum participation of Youth members leading/driving activities, participating etc.
Please fill the attached form by Jan 20th 2022 indicating your interests.
Your input and participation is very valuable for us!!! Any other interests, activities you want to suggest besides what’s listed in the form, please add under the respective column. Even if you are uncertain about attending Convention, please send your responses. Pre- convention activities are open for all.
To celebrate the contribution of our Havyaka women in all walks of life and the importance of womanhood in our culture, “Streeshakthi” has been selected as the theme for the 2022 Biennial Havyaka Convention.
We are calling for the Poem competition based on this theme.
Final winning contribution will be used as a theme song throughout the convention and in our Souvenir.
